Responsibilities:
Customer Environment
The basic responsibility of a sales associate is to make the customers experience pleasant and comfortable while educating them on product information, and maintain the stores inventory. This should not produce a ‘pushy’ style of sale but a pleasant experience, and a team experience for making the inventory fluid. The sales associate is a representative of our corporation and is expected to act in a fashion that is acceptable to our customers and fellow employees.
Training
Sales training is available to all sales associates, vitamin supplement knowledge is not a requirement for this position - we will train you.
Daily Activities (Operation Standards)
In addition to customer service issues all sales associates are expected to maintain and help with the inventory responsibilities. Inventory responsibilities include ordering, stocking, cleaning shelves, and maintaining shelf prices. In addition to inventory responsibilities sales associates might have to help in all areas of our stores, including grocery, produce and registrar needs.
Merchandizing stores is essential all sales associates must follow the following basic protocol.
- Merchandising/Stocking shelves (This section requires sign off from a management team.)
- Cleaning the shelves before putting new products down.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds with no complications.
- Rotating the older stock to the front of the shelf.
- Report all OVER ordered products to the D.H.
- Do not change the number of facings. (Bottles spaces)
- Check for dates/expiration, and general old stock.
- The D.H. or management team heads re-merchandising of shelves.
- All areas of the shelves need to be merchandised. This is accomplished by facing and making sure the area is following a sectional flow, not allowing bleeding of section(s) through and into other sections.
- Each manager may have a different style and taste, so be flexible for style differences. Remember we want to look good but be able to work together.
- Check "cross merchandised" products daily and balance the stock.
- Cleaning
- If spills in a section can be cleaned easily and don’t require leaving a customer please clean up the mess.
- All wet spills need a secured area(s) to prevent slipping, and then call for assistance or when needed clean up.
- During “down times” shelf cleaning is always needed, clean a section and don’t leave a mess until the next day.
