​Michael’s® Naturopathic Programs of San Antonio Texas is recalling certain lots of the dietary supplement Cholesterol Metabolism Factors™, because it may contain undeclared milk (in the form of calcium caseinate) and soy. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk and soy run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. Cholesterol Metabolism Factors™was distributed nationwide in the US through retail stores and online (internet) ordering. The product is sold in white plastic bottles with the Michael’s® Naturopathic Programs brand label. Three sizes of this product are affected by the recall, 90 count, 180 count and 270 count. Nature’s One of Lewis Center, OH is voluntarily recalling three lots of PediaSmart Dairy Vanilla complete nutrition beverage powder packaged in 12.7 ounce cans, which bear the lot numbers located on the bottom of the can. This product is generally consumed by individuals between the ages of 13 months – 13 years old. The result of measuring product with the smaller scoop is that only 60% of the labeled nutritional content will be consumed per serving. Unless this product is used as a sole source of nutrition, there should be no health risk from using the incorrect scoop. This action is being taken out of an abundance of caution. Kashi Company today announced a voluntary recall of Kashi® Trail Mix Chewy Granola Bars and Bear Naked® Soft Baked Granola, Cinnamon + Sunflower Butter in the continental United States because they contain ingredients made from sunflower seeds distributed by our supplier, SunOpta, that have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. The company has received no reports of illness to date but is taking this action as part of its commitment to the health and safety of the people who eat its foods.
